Note, picture or art magnet holder for kids or adults

Fun and easy memo, picture or art magnet for kids or adults to use. I think this might be one of the EASIEST crafts we have ever made.

Materials:
Already painted wood piece you can get at most local art/craft stores(Michael's, Hobby Lobby, A.C. Moore or Jo-Ann's)
Clothespin
Magnet
Glue gun

These are great little gifts for Teachers, co-workers, office staff, doctor offices, ect. This craft will cost you less than $1.00.

Wood piece is $.59 and clothespin are cheap along with the magnet. We used Craft Project ideas materials for the clothespin and magnets. These items can be found at Wal-Mart or on-line.

This time of the year there are so many things you can do to bring the smell of Christmas to the air, well we have been doing alot of fun things with Peppermint this holiday season. So I gathered our list of fun things and wanted to share all in one place.

Make your own scented puff paint. I didn't do a post on this but the recipe we used can be found here at Mama Miss and all you need to do is add 1tsp peppermint extract.

Add it to rice for a fun Christams sensory play. We love Kool-aid rice.

If you have never added scent to play or crafts, you should really try it kids love it and it is fun.

Candy Cane bead ornament with a poem

I love to make crafts with the kids that help them with their fine motor and eye-hand coordination. This craft is SUPER easy and very inexpensive. Plus it has a great poem that you can teach about the religious meaning of a candy cane.

Materials:
Red and White pony beads
Pipe cleaners

Both of the supplies we bought at Wal-Mart and they are by Craft project ideas.

On their package it states 6+ for the age, as long as you supervise your kids and they don't put things in their mouth this craft is safe for 2 1/2 and older.

Both my kids did this craft with me sitting with them and did fine.

Christmas Candy Cane Poem about Jesus

Fun snowman ornament using cottonballs

I love the clear plastic ornaments the craft stores came out with a couple years ago.The kids can make things with them and you don't have to worry about them dropping and breaking, no one getting hurt
.
I am a snowman lover and we are really into all the fun ornaments this year, so I have the kids fill the ornament with cotton balls and then they added faces to them.

Easy and great fine motor/eye hand coordination for the little ones.

Great little gift to give family members from the kids and it cost less than $1.00. I like to stock up on them at the end of the holiday when they are on clearance cause you can do so much with them.

Materials:
Clear ornament bulb...these are plastic so they are safe for kids
Cotton balls
Sharpie marker (black and orange)
Ribbon to tie on tree

Make your own Peppermint ice cream sandwich

We all know this time of the year Peppermint is one of the famous flavor for the season. Well today, while the kiddos were napping which is not very often at the same time. I made them SUGAR FREE peppermint ice cream sandwiches.

Easy as 1,2,3.

Materials:
Sugar free whip cream
Graham crackers
Peppermint extract
Green food coloring
Shoe string licorice(I got ours at Walgreen's down the candy aisle)


To make:
Let the cool whip sit to get soft, then mix the food coloring and peppermint extract in with the cool whip. Place in freezer to get hard again and then take out scoop on the graham cracker, put the other graham cracker on top and eat or you can place back in the freezer.

Then I made them alittle decorative by adding shoestring licorice. So it had that present look to it.

The kids can even help with this. The next batch going to have the kids help. Wanted to see how it all worked out before I had them help and then "J" get upset if it didn't work.

They were YUMMY and I loved how easy they were to make.

Gingerbread house sensory painting bath fun

We just went to the Gingy's Gingerbread decorating at the National Harbor, MD and the kids had a blast.

We decorated Gingerbread family cookies, the kids rode on the train and then we watched the tree lighting. So tonight I put together a fun sensory gingerbread house decorating bath for the kids. This bath was a BIG hit.

This is a super easy bath to put together. You don't have to do it in the bath, I just think it cleans up easier

Materials:
Craft Foam (Brown for the house, white for the snow, then whatever colors you want for the candy)
Window clings(optional)......I used ours from the Christmas Tree Bath
Shaving cream
White sparkle glitter(optional)
Cinnamon Nutmeg essential oils for a yummy scent (optional)


After I cut out all the fun shapes, I placed in the tub. I put the shaving cream in a bowl, added the essential oil and glitter. We used that for the icing like you decorate the gingerbread houses.


This bath cost less than $4.00 and you can use it over and over. When we are done and the foam is dry I place in a zip lock baggie to store for next time.

I love how much fun they had and the GREAT memories we are making together to cherish for life.

Recycled Reindeer bulb ornament

Another fun way to use the burned out light bulb instead of throwing it away. Make your own reindeer ornament.

This craft is fun and neat to see hanging on the tree.

Materials:
Light bulb
Black pipe cleaners (3)
Acrylic paint (brown, red and black)
Glue gun
Ribbon
Sharpie
Mod Podge to seal the paint on

To make it follow these steps:
Paint the light bulb brown first, then once it is dry glue the black pipe cleaner around the top using the glue gun, then paint the face and you are done.

*Older kids can help but just make sure you are watching them with the glue gun.

You can have the little one(s) paint the reindeer and face, you help with the pipe cleaner and glue gun.

Cinnamon stick reindeer ornament

Easy reindeer ornament for the tree that smells good. Very simple to make and a great little ornament to add to the present or gift bag.

Materials:
Cinnamon sticks
Red little pom pom for the nose
2 Google eyes
Glue gun

Scented snowflake tree ornament made with popsicle sticks

We are having so much fun making simple Christmas tree ornaments this year and adding some fun scents to them as well.

Snowflakes are not a new craft with popsicle sticks, so we wanted ours alittle different so we added alittle extra twist to them.

1. I place several sticks in a baggie and added some peppermint extract and alittle water and let them sit over night. Then took them out and placed on a paper towel to dry. After they were dry we painted them with scented peppermint paint. Boy did they smell YUMMY!!

2. We added some snowflake buttons to them, you can get a bag of 52 buttons from Michael's for $4.99 or use a 50% off coupon like we did and get them for $2.49.

Materials:
Popsicle sticks (we used large ones)
Paint
Glue
Buttons( you can add whatever you would like to your snowflakes)
Ribbon

DIY....candy cane picture frame ornament

Easy, inexpensive, and fun craft to make for a gift or keepsake for less than a $1.00.

Materials:
Candy Canes (Fake we used) get them for the Dollar Tree 6 come in a pack
Glue Gun
String
Picture if you want to make a frame with it


Glue the 2 hearts together to make a heart, let it dry then glue the string to the top. Cut picture to fit the heart and then hang on the tree.
