Healthy homemade strawberry and banana ice cream

Today is Tuesday Treat day for summer time, we have been on a roll of making our own ice cream. J loves doing all the prep for it, so today we did ice cream and popsicles.

For the ice cream all you need are frozen strawberries and banana's, milk and a blender. We added 1/2 cup of milk to 1 banana and 5 cut-up strawberries. (You can use as much or little as you like to each)

Then blend and you have homemade ice cream(soft serve). If you would like it a little harder then place in the freezer for 30 min.

To make popsicles do it all the same just add 1 cup of milk then pour into popsicle containers and let it freeze for couple hours.

There you have it easy to make ice cream and popsicle and the nice thing is it is healthy.

Hope you enjoy this as much as we did.

Summer fruit treat

We love to make fun and easy treats for the holidays. Today we put together this fun treat for the kids to eat for our little family July 4th party.

What you need for this yummy treat:
Graham crackers.....crushed
Strawberries
Marshmallow fluff
Blueberries
Whip cream(optional)
sprinkles(optional)

All we did was layer first the graham crackers crushed, then the strawberries cut up, then marshmallow fluff(you can also use yogurt or whip cream for the white), then blueberries and on the top added some whip cream and sprinkles for pretty look.

Jake loves to cook and so we are always looking for fun things to make in the kitchen.

Making sun fruit tea

With summer here and the weather HOT, thought it would be neat to show J what happens when you place tea bags in the water and leave it in the sun.

So I had J fill up the jug with water and add the tea bags in, then we placed it in the sun and waited.
I think that was the hardest part for J so I had to keep him busy and his mind off the tea.

He was so excitied to see what was going to happen, he kept asking to check on the tea. It was cute.

We came back several hours later and the water turned brown, J's face was priceless when he saw that.

So it was ready we added some strawberries and sugar to it.

Love how the simple things in life can have so much excitement from kids.

Great summer fun for the kids.
