Holiday scented sensory cloud dough

We played with Cloud dough for the first time back in February and "J" loved it. Now that "C" is old enough to play with it thought it would be fun to put together a sensory bin with a theme like The Imagination Tree did.

If you have never been to her site you have to check it out she has inspired me to do more Themed sensory bins. GREAT stuff and fun.

The things you can do with your kids are endless with sensory bins.

Materials:
Flour
Vegetable oil
Warm sugar cookie oil (optional) we got this from the the candle/oil section at Wal-Mart or you can use peppermint extract

If you are making this for a younger kid (that puts things in their mouth) don't recommend using the oil, but you can add cooking extract for a nice scent.

Then I gathered things I had on hand around the house that were baking related and the kids had a blast.

If you have never made this cloud dough is it so soft, but forms when you squeeze or pat it. It does make a mess so I placed a big table cloth under the kids, it was too cold to go outside.

If you like sensory play be sure to check out our Scented play dough and 50+ different themed sensory bins.

Boiling Skeleton Soup Sensory Play

"J" and "C" have really loved playing all different ways with the Halloween party pack toys from Dollar Tree this year.

They love playing with vinegar and baking soda so I took it out today for another fun sensory play.

I poured vinegar and alittle kool-aid for color in the recycled bottles we had saved for pretend play, then placed baking soda containers on the table. They went to town.

Also, if you want to not use so much vinegar you can add alittle water to it and you will still get the bubbling.

The kids had a blast and you can tell by the pictures.

***Also, if you are close to a Thrift store, Goodwill or Salvation Army, check those places out for cheap Halloween play. I have scored some fun things from them.***

Materials:
Pouring bottles (we used recycled ones)
Baking soda
Vinegar
Kool-aid or food coloring (optional)
Halloween toys

Halloween Spider cider

"J" and "C" have loved doing different sensory play things with the Halloween toys. It was so nice out we took the play on the deck and they mixed different kool-aid packets, water, spiders and eyeballs together.

Then after they mixed it all up"J" said mom, "do you want some of our spider cider?" I thought that was too cute. I said "yes".

Then "J" said, "it will be good mom, it's like apple cider."

Materials:
Kool-aid packets cheap $.20
Dollar Tree spiders and eyeballs.....we have got our money out of those toys!!

I poured alittle kool-aid into the recycled containers and then let "J" and "C" pour and mix away.

They loved playing together making this fun cider.

"C" loved scooping all the spiders and eyeballs in and out of the pitcher.
