Handmade picture flowers in a pot

Every holiday we are always making fun keepsakes for meme, grandma and other special family members. Two years ago we made these special flower pots and placed baby pictures of the kids in them .

The are very easy to make. For the flower part we used cupcake holders and for the stem we used popsicle sticks. Then to hold the special picture flowers in the flower pot we used styrofoam. This craft is fun and easy for all ages. You can get all the supplies from the Dollar Store and have enough supplies to make several.

Mother's Day handprint crafts

As a Mom of 2 little ones I love homemade gifts for Mother's Day. To me they are the BEST gifts a kid could give. Also, it doesn't get better then to have their handprint as part of the homemade gift.

So below I gathered some of the many handprint keepsakes I liked from Pinterest and put them in a post.

Personalized Handprint License Tag

We love making homemade gifts for family members. They mean more to us and it's the best keepsake to have from kids. Last year for my aunt, my kids Godmother we made her a special tag for the front of her car.

This is inexpensive and super easy. All you have to do is go to the local automotive store and get a license tag and cover. They cost less then $15.00 for both.

The tag I got had a flag on one side and blank on the other, so we used the blank side. The kids picked out the color for their handprints and place it on the tag. (Paint we used was just acrylic paint from Wal-Mart for $.59) Then used a sharpie marker to write the message.

The clear cover for the tag protects it so you don't have to seal the license tag.

The great thing about this tag is you can write whatever you want on it and you can design it how you like to. Personalized tags are not cheap and they don't have that personal touch with the kids handprints.

DYI letter frame

I made this frame for my mom for Mother's Day of the kids. Was so simple.

I got a frame from IKEA 11x14
Bought wood letters from Michael's....used 50% off coupon so each letter was $2.00 only bought 1 M and 1 E.
Bought black and white poster board from Wal-Mart.
Cut out the sizes I needed and mod podge it all together.

Was a little tough to do with my 19 month old but we got it. My mom loved it she cried.
