5+ color science experiments for kids

We have been exploring different ways to have fun with colors and science, so I gathered up a list for them to be all in one spot for you.

Below are pictures and the links to see how to do them.

They are all a lot of fun and simple enough for preschoolers as well as older kids.

Rainbow pot of gold finger print keepsake

Fun and simple finger print keepsake craft for kids to make.

I drew the pot with a black sharpie, on card stock and then cut out circles for the coins.

Had the kids glue the gold coins on and then we did their finger prints in each color of the rainbow.

Materials:
White card stock paper
Colored ink pads
Glue

I love the top picture of the kids when Jake was helping Cate do the finger prints.

Rainbow Science for kids

We love science and have been working on colors with my youngest so, I put together this fun and easy colored science fun. All you need is a tray, baking soda, kool-aid and some water, NO VINEGAR.

It will keep your kids busy for at least 20-30 minutes if you use a spray bottle or pipette to make a bubbling or fizzing rainbow. This is a great fine motor skill as well as science fun.

Jake and Cate had so much fun doing the Shamrock science I set up another fun science twist with colors. The key is to set it up and add a little twist each time to keep the kids interested in it.

If your kids love science and experimenting be sure to check out all the fun you can have with science and kool-aid

St. Patrick's counting sensory bin

The kids love sensory bins, so I put together this simple sensory bin. We made colored rice then added some shamrock things in along with some coins from the Dollar Tree.

This learning bin cost less then $5.00 and the kids had a fun time counting the coins placing them in the hats along with hiding them in the rainbow rice.

Fun and easy way to learn and explore.

Shamrock rainbow alphabet learning bath

I love to watch the kids learn through play and so I put together a fun Alphabet matching and spelling learning game for bath.

This is a fun and simple bath and can also be used outside the bath as well

All you need is foam shamrocks and letters from the Dollar Tree. If you didn't know when craft foam is wet it works like a sticker on the tub or wall. We also used a spin chart I got in the Target dollar section for a little extra fun...spin the wheel and find the letter.

This game can also be used outside the bath, all you need is a dry erase board. If you take a squirt bottle and damp the foam it will stick to the dry erase board or even a chalk board.

I would spell a word and "J" had to find the letters and put them in order.
With toddlers you can have them find the letters and tell them what it is and then have them repeat after you. That is what we did with "C".

They really enjoyed this bath and is a great way to tie in learning.

If you like to get learning time in during bath time be sure to check out some of our other learning baths we have done.
