Alphabet matching sensory bin game

I put together a fun letter recognition/matching sensory bin for the kids to explore in. I would say I spy letter "blank" and then they would have to find the upper and lower case letters in the bin.

Very simple to put together I used our foam uppercase BATH letters and then got 3 packs of carrot shaped eggs from the Dollar Tree and wrote the lowercase letters on them.  Got the grass from Wal-Mart for $0.33 and used 4 bags.

Fun way for them to learn and explore.

The kids had fun finding the letters and was really cute Jake was helping Cate, due to we are working on the recognition of the letters with her.

We love fun learning sensory play so be sure to check out some of the below links.

Make your own Fall door decoration

Since Fall is here, thought it would be nice for "J" to make something fun for the door. Plus it was a good way to get him to trace letters and he didn't even think about.

I was in the Dollar Tree the other day and saw this pack of 5 foam shapes and I grabbed a couple. The pack had leafs, pumpkins and an acorn shape in them for $1.00.

So I wrote "FALL" on the leaves and then had "J" make a smiley face on the circle for the word "HAPPY".

After that "J" traced the word FALL with the glitter glue to give it that pretty look. Fun way to get them to write and they don't even realize.

Materials:
Foam shapes
Yarn
Googly eyes
Hole puncher
Glitter pens

If you like Fall crafts and fun, make sure to check back this week for the other fun we have planned.

Fishing for the alphabet in the sea

We have been working on matching Upper and Lower case letters, so I cut out some sea animals on my cricut machine and then laminated them. Placed paper clips on them and wrote upper case on one side and lower case on other side. Then we fished with the magnet fishing poles.

Placed in the small swimming pool and the kids had fun. I would hold up a letter and then "J" would have to find the match and tell me what letter. "C" would pick a letter up and we would tell her.

I also added alittle twist and when we picked up a letter I would ask what word starts with that letter.

Materials:
Sea animals
Laminate
Paper clips
Magnet fishing pole (you can make your own as well)

Alphabet Ice sensory play

J and C love the ice sensory play. So to add a little education to the fun play I took our alphabet magnets and placed then in ice trays with water and vinegar mix, then froze them to make ice.

Then I took them out the next day and set up a fun alphabet sensory play. Took some of the other alphabet toys we had and placed all around the table and added the ice cubes to it.

Then the kids added salt, water, vinegar and baking soda to the ice to get the letters out of the ice.

When they got the letters out of the ice we matched the upper and lower case letters together.

Materials:
Magnet letters(Dollar Tree) or any little letters you want to place in the ice.
Salt
Baking soda
Vinegar
Ice trays

This is a great fine motor skill along with eye/hand coordination for kids. Then they are playing as well as learning the letter reorganization.

Number stamping....turned into fun

It was alittle cool outside today so I took out the stamps and foam numbers to let the kids have alittle stamping fun. We are working on the sight of the numbers with my 3yr old and I thought this would be fun with him since he like doing the letters.

Well have to say the kids had fun. Stamped alittle numbers and the started doing their feet all over the paper. They are a trip. My 18 month old daughter started it cause she is the little mischief one. My son thought is was funny and he followed.

Hey it's all about FUN!!!

This is where they started with the numbers.

My son does his hand prints and you can see in the back my daugther is taking her socks off.....lol

The fun starts

Yes she is standing in the ink pad

She was amking sure her hands and feet were dirty

Look at all those little feet.
