Alphabet crafts for each letter

There is so many fun ways you can teach the alphabet to your kids. I put together a list below of fun literacy learning with crafts. We love making crafts so I thought it would be fun to share some of the crafts we have done and some that other great bloggers have done with their little ones.

Pirates and beach sensory play

We are so ready for the warm weather and be able to play at the beach I set up a beach sensory play for the kids today using our Homemade moon sand and then added some blue jello for the water.

This sensory tub was easy to set up and very inexpensive. Along with the fun play, it is great for their imagination.

I gathered our ocean play toys, shells and some pirate play stuff. The kids played for at least a hour and then came back to it several times through out the day.

I even got some of our pirate treasure and hid them in the moon sand for them to find when they were digging. They loved it.

After they played a while I added some other toys to twist it up a little.

Jake was excited to find the treasure.

Erupting moon sand volcano sensory play

We used our homemade moon sand to make a super fun erupting volcano. Then Jake and Cate played with the dinosaur sensory play after.

There is so many fun things you can do with the moon sand. Also, it is super easy to make and inexpensive.

To make it click the link above. Then to do the volcano we used kool-aid packet mixed with baking soda. Then vinegar to make it erupt.

To make the volcano we used a plastic tube and built the sand around it to make the volcano. Then just added fun dinosaur toys and played. I also added some of our homemade mud play

Dinosaur eggs erupting bath fun

Jake and Cate have really been into the dinosaur play, so I made them a fun erupting dinosaur bath for them to play in.

I put together some dinosaur eggs with dinosaurs in them for them to erupt in the bath along with some volcano play. You can also do this fun activity in a Dinosaur sensory bin as well. We did the bath cause Jake asked if they could do a volcano/dinosaur bath.

Materials:

Baking soda

Hair conditioner( you can also just use a small amount of water to get it damp as well)

Instant coffee (dry)
Vinegar

Small dinosaurs

How to make dinosaur eggs:

Mix 2 cups baking soda, 1/4 cup of hair conditioner or 2 teaspoons of water, and 1/2 cup of dry instant coffee. Once it is all blended together then mold around the dinosaur like a rock. Place on a plate or tray and let them sit for 24 hours if you want them hard like rocks. The longer you let them sit the harder they are.
